All for a fawn
Written by Peyton Avery

Once upon a time there was a boy named Lucio he liked lots of things but, his favorite thing to do was take pictures. One day while out in the forest taking pictures of wildlife he saw a beautiful baby fawn rise from the bushes, sadly it ran away before he could take the picture. Though now Lucio, determined to take this picture, ventured through the forest till he found himself slightly lost in the great pine woods. He sat down for a moment and paused in the silence  till he heard a voice. It was a girl about Lucio's age and she was dressed up as a princess but her dress was rather dirty. She came around to him and asked, "May I sit here too?" Lucio responded with a shrug of his shoulders, "I don't see why not."  The girl, oh so fragile, sat down and Lucio turned to her and said, "Why would a princess be wondering around in the woods?" to which she responded, "I saw a baby fawn in the meadow near my home I just wanted to pet it but, it ran from me... it was so pretty." Lucio perked up with excitement, "I saw the same baby fawn I believe!" They both began to explain what they thought made the fawn so beautiful, then they told each other jokes, and stories from their lives. They talked till it was getting late in the evening and they both decided to find their way back to the village together.  As they walked to the village, hand in hand, they were stopped short. For in the path before them was the baby fawn standing quite elegantly. Now closer than ever to the fawn,  Lucio did not pull out his camera and Junanita did not step forth to pet it.  They allowed it to wander away back into the woods, for they didn't need to take pictures of it or to pet it because.. it brought them together. That baby fawn wouldn't be remembered by the pictures he took or the soft fur she brushed, but their love would take it's place. That's all that truly mattered, because once you find someone that makes you happy and gives you butterflies,  you should never let them slip away. Not for anything.
